Host Resource Guide

Put Your Local Guide on Your Own Website

Your Local Guide — the places, essentials, and Instagram posts you've curated in Yalloha — doesn't have to live only inside your welcome book. Here are the three ways to show it on your own site, from easiest to most flexible.

2 minutes for the embed option No code required for most hosts

Option A — Embed script (recommended)

~2 minutes, no code

Copy two lines and paste them into your site's custom code block. This works on any platform that lets you add custom HTML to a page:

  • Squarespace — add a Code Block where you want the guide to appear.
  • Wix — add an Embed element (“Embed a Widget” → “Embed HTML”).
  • WordPress — add a Custom HTML block in the page/post editor.
  • Webflow — add an Embed element from the Add panel.

Find your exact snippet (your property id is already filled in) under your property's Local Guide → Settings tab in Yalloha — it also has a live preview so you can see it before you publish. It looks like this:

<div data-yalloha-guide="YOUR_PROPERTY_ID" data-channel="guide"></div>
<script async src="https://www.yalloha.com/guide-embed.js"></script>

Only the places you've published appear — anything still a candidate or hidden in your dashboard never shows up here (essentials are the one exception: they show automatically as soon as they're sourced, unless you hide one). Changes you publish in Yalloha appear on your embedded guide within about 10 minutes (the feed is cached for speed).

The embed shows places and essentials only — it doesn't render your own or guest-tagged Instagram posts (a place can still carry a “See on Instagram” link when a creator post is attached to it). If you want your Instagram posts on your own site too, that needs a full integration against the JSON feed below (ownPosts and taggedPosts), not the embed script.

Optional attributes let you narrow what shows: data-categories="eat,do,see" limits which kinds of places appear, data-limit="12" caps how many cards show, data-theme="light" (or dark) overrides the automatic light/dark styling, and data-show-essentials="false" hides the grocery/pharmacy/gas row.

Option B — A hosted page you link to

Coming soon

A Yalloha-hosted page at a shareable link (for example yalloha.com/guide/your-property) that you could simply link to from your own site's navigation or welcome page — no embedding required. This doesn't exist yet. The embed script in Option A is the fastest path available today; this option will be documented here once it ships.

Option C — The JSON feed (for developers)

Full control

If you're building a custom integration — a native app, a different framework, server-side rendering for SEO — fetch the feed directly and render it yourself:

GET https://www.yalloha.com/api/guide/v1/properties/{propertyId}
GET https://www.yalloha.com/api/guide/v1/properties/{propertyId}?channel=guide

The response has four arrays: items (published places by category — eat/do/see/stay), essentials (nearest grocery/pharmacy/gas/hardware/liquor, unless you've disabled that section), ownPosts (your own published Instagram posts), and taggedPosts (guest-tagged posts you've approved). It's public, requires no API key, is CORS-open, and is cached at the edge for 10 minutes.

A minimal fetch + render example:

const res = await fetch(
  `https://www.yalloha.com/api/guide/v1/properties/${propertyId}?channel=guide`
);
if (!res.ok) {
  // 404 = unknown property id; treat like "no guide yet"
  return renderEmptyState();
}
const feed = await res.json();

for (const item of feed.items) {
  renderCard({
    name: item.place.name,
    category: item.category,
    distanceMiles: item.distanceM / 1609.34,
    blurb: item.blurb,
    rating: item.place.rating, // show "rating via Google" next to it
    ratingCount: item.place.ratingCount,
    mapsUrl: item.place.mapsUrl,
    website: item.place.website,
  });
}

Attribution requirements

  • Show “rating via Google” next to any Google star rating you display — exactly like the embed script does.
  • Never re-host or download Instagram media. Link to the post's own permalink (or use Instagram's official embedHtml blockquote on items[].posts) rather than copying the image.

Ask Yalloha's AI tools to do it for you

If your AI assistant is connected to Yalloha (via MCP), it can publish and draft your guide directly — you don't need to touch the dashboard or the feed at all for curation. Try a prompt like:

Publish the recommended places for my Sedona property and draft blurbs for anything that needs one.

Under the hood that uses get_guide_recommendations, apply_guide_recommendations, and draft_guide_blurb — see AI Integration for how to connect an assistant.
